  2. Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) Classes covering all 10 topic areas in diabetes.  Real Diabetes Management is an ADA recognized program.  Our classes focus on behavior change, problem solving, goal setting and exercise.  These classes are spread out over 6 weeks to allow you to put what you learn into practice.  Each class will include class participated strength and flexibility exercises.  Our classes have only hands on exercises and group led discussion.  We will plan menus, discuss and practice choosing foods in restaurants, review healthy cooking techniques and learn about all areas of diabetes management.
  3.  Wellness Programs for Corporations and Businesses. Providing a wellness program to employees has been shown in several studies to reduce the incidence of coronary events, and lower the incidence of diabetes. In one program thru General Electric (GE) there were 4 coronary events prevented per 1000 employees over a 5 year period, which equals $92,000 dollar reduction in health care costs. Wellness programs conducted by Real Life Nutrition have seen an average 3 pound weight reduction and 2.5% drop in body fat percentage, along with a 10 point drop in low density lipoprotein cholesterol in less than 3-5 months.

Why should I see a dietician?

A registered dietitian (RD) is the leading expert in diet and nutrition counseling. RDs must have a Bachelors of Science degree, and complete a 900 hour supervised internship before being eligible to sit for the RD exam. This experience provides a wealth of hands-on experience in the field of nutrition.
